The Raid

This section of the site is where you can read various raid stories, and find our goals and requirements for our members to join us on Raids. The goal is not to be elitist, but to have a well oiled and finely tuned machine that is tight, solid, and works flawlessly within the various situations that can come up in Big Boss Raids.

Attendance - This is generally a touchy subject because there comes a fine line where the game can become intrusive with life. We're not unrealistic. We won't make some insane demands that other so-called raid guilds will make. But in order for everyone in the guild to benefit fairly from their time invested in their characters and the guild itself, these rules must be put into place and strictly adhered to. No one is above the rules set forth on this site. So here are our rules for Raid Attendance.
Everyone is to show up for at least Two (2) Upper Blackrock Spire or higher (BWL, ZG, MC) runs per week. Two (2) runs out of 7 possible days is NOT alot to ask. If it is, then you don't belong in this game, let alone this guild.
If you do not show up to at least Two (2) of those runs per week with a VALID excuse, then you will lose a rank within the Guild. No debating, no arguing, no whining or crying. This is how it's done. Don't like it, there's the door.
No one will ever fall below the rank of Gruntz, as Runtz is reserved for initiates.
If we happen to do Two (2) Upper Spire or above runs in one night, then your requirement is fulfilled for that week.
People that DO show up for the runs, but we are unable to do it because of no-showers will get total credit for being there and don't have to worry about anything.
If you say you'll be there for a run, and then simply don't show up without a VALID reason or prior warning, you are also NOT up for obtaining ANY LOOT on the next run you DO show up on.

We do not feel that 2 runs out of 7 days is alot to ask. I am aware that rank means alot to everyone, and since rank is so important, I feel that something so important must also be maintained. Consideration for the people of the guild is a must. Plain and simple. We are of the Tribe mentality. We are a unit that works together. Either everyone works together, or they go find somewhere else to waste their time.

Not to mention, that if you are not online for 14+ days without so much as a word to anyone, then you can and most likely WILL be removed from the Tribe period. Inactivity is of no use to us, much less inactivity without communicating why. By not logging on over a 2 week period, you are assumed uninterested in playing the game and MIA.

Communication ie. Ventrilo - Ventrilo is mandatory. If you cannot speak in it, that's fine, but you absolutely must be able to hear what's being said. Server information will be provided.

Our usual *expected* Raid days are Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and / or Sundays. We do run instances when there's enough on to do something. Usual start time 6pm EST. Our weeks run from Sunday To Saturday.

Below is a list of Instanced Dungeons that we expect our members to be able to handle to a certain degree of proficiency. There is an order for a reason. Our Raid progression is like your level progression. You absolutely must be able to handle yourselves in any situation. Consider this 'Boot Camp'. The bottom line is, if the Officers and GM do not feel you are ready, you WILL NOT GO TO A RAID. This is not up for debate.

Ragefire Chasm - Level 13-15 - Orgrimmar

Wailing Caverns - Level 15-21 - The Barrens

Razorfen Kraul - Level 25-31 - The Barrens

Shadowfang Keep - Level 18-25 - Silverpine Forest

The Scarlet Monastery - Level 30-40 - Tirisfal Glades

Uldaman - Level 35-45 - The Badlands

Razorfen Downs - Level 35-40 - The Barrens

Maraudon - Level 40-49 - Desolace

Zul'Farrak - Level 43-47 - Tanaris Desert

The Sunken Temple - Level 44-50 - Swamp of Sorrows

Blackrock Depths - Level 48-56 - Between Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes

Blackrock Spire - Level 53-60 - Between Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes

Strathome - Level 55-60 - Eastern Plaguelands

Scholomance - Level 57-60 - Western Plaguelands

Loot Distribution - This is all very simple. You get what you earn. If you don't do your job, don't show up, suck at your job, or do anything else that deems you undeserving, then don't expect first pick at loot that might drop.
Patience is a virtue and is rewarded. Accept it, or move on.

Attitude - We don't care how well you think you know your class. That isn't the point here. It is how well we know your playstyle and abilities. Only those that we are absolutely comfortable with will be able to make the grade into higher end raids. We need to be able to trust each other to hold their own, follow orders to the letter, and to cover for a bad pull or an unforseen event. If we do not have confidence in you, then you will not be going to raids. Sorry. There is little to no room for error in the highest end raids, so we don't need someone getting cocky thinking they are the next God of their class. We will not try and play your class for you. But you will be expected to do what you are told. If you're told to crowd control, that crowd better be controlled or you're toast.

We won't throw you in blindly and expect you to figure out what we want from you. Here is what is important, in detail :

Class Knowledge - If you know your class well enough to execute a plan near perfectly. We know what every class is capable of. We have played them all extensively. We expect you to know what you are capable of too.

Following Orders - There's a fine line between being told how to play your class, and telling you what we need you to do with your class. Like it or not, everyone has a role. In any situation, your role can change. If you are told to mez something, then do it. If you are told to deal with non-elites, then deal with them. If you are told to keep the elite mobs busy while someone else runs bait, then DO IT.

Flexability - Ability to think on your feet and recover from a bad pull, bad aggro, or a surprise repop is key. We don't want wipes. They are not fun. If something pops up, and you happen to know exactly what can save the group, then hot damn, good job! Changing your role on the fly, adjusting quickly and being able to handle just about anything is key.

Ego Check - We don't care how good you think you are. We already know what you can do. We don't need heroes. We need teamwork. We don't care if you're the greatest thing since sliced bread. You are a cog in a bigger machine. Don't do things that you THINK will help unless you're basically assigned to that duty. Everyone has their chance to shine eventually, and there is NO room for egos in a raid. Expect to be removed from the raid and probably the guild if this isn't in check the very second you are told.

Loot Whore - Everyone wants loot. Everyone will get loot. In time. Time invested helps. Don't think you're going to invest minimal time and get drops before someone who is there every single night and then pout about it later. People get things on a need before greed basis with us. It's also based on how much time you put into raiding with us. Don't expect to walk into a tail end of a raid and expect the epic drop. You'll get slapped. Do not complain, whine, stomp your feet or pout if you don't get an item you want. It's not like we will never do that run again. Everyone will get theirs. Just wait like everyone else. Loot Whores will not be tolerated and will be removed from the guild entirely.

"Leaving" - People have lives. Yes. But if something magically always happens the very second you get an item you want, or the quest you need finished, we'll notice. We're not stupid. Computers don't explode THAT often. Life is life, and this is directed at those players that are just selfish and only seem to have computer issues or "emergencies" when it's time to help others and their objectives are done. We'd rather hear the truth. If you want to leave, then say so. Don't give excuses. The truth works. Dishonesty is not tolerated, even in this form. Work together or don't work at all. This behavior results in a boot from the party and guild.

Chat - Pay attention. If you're in a raid or group, you shouldn't be worrying about or taking part in Guild Chat. Keep your head in the task at hand or be sent packing from the raid.

Be Prepared - Common sense says show up with food, water if needed, whatever potions you'll need and gear fully repaired. You can afford repairs, food and water, and if you can't then you better get to work and don't belong on raids to begin with. Especially if you have the means to fabricate the items you need (ie. potions if you're an alchemist) Any idiot that shows up unprepared will be sent packing.

If you can deal with all of this, if you can work with your guildmates like a team, then you will reap the rewards and you will be able to take part in events like those below :

Zul'Gurub : Venoxis Downed - Farm Status! 1/7/06

Our first time facing Venoxis and our third time in ZG. After the initial few learning pulls, we realized what he does, how he does it and went in with a counter. When he fell, our death toll was ZERO. Great work, Tribe!

Stratholme : Farm Status! 5/25/05

Stratholme has been added to the official "farm status" category.

Scholomance : Farm Status! 5/7/05

Scholomance has been considered official "farm status". We can basically do it in our sleep now. Cutting down these instances provide far more of a challenge than the Alliance do in PvP. *wink*

Upper Blackrock Spire : Conquered by the Blagtoof! 4/16/05

With a 15 man raid, the Blagtoof WarTribe conquered the Upper portion of Blackrock Spire. And we didn't do it with 15 level 60s. We had one 60 Priest, a 56 Druid and a 54 Shaman as our only means of staying alive in the Boss encounters. This was Rend's third death, the Beasts first, and the General's first. Our participation list is as follows :
Kederessa - 60 Priest
Grishnak - 60 Warrior
Gorbadz - 60 Warrior
Yulagh - 60 Warrior
Yorga - 60 Rogue
Narod - 60 Warlock
Ravetntears - 60 Rogue
Bathizar - 60 Warrior
Uzmael - 60 Mage
Zirud - 59 Warrior
Mors - 58 Hunter
Gharton - 58 Hunter
Raze - 56 Druid
Diggly - 54 Shaman
Drondar - 54 Warlock
The dedication, stamina and power of our Tribe was amazing. Great job all, this is only the beginning!

Blackrock Depths - 5man! 3/4/05

Tonight we decided to stop screwing around and actually run into BRD and finish it up, Emperor and all. So Kederessa (60 Priest), Raventears (60 Rogue), Yulagh (60 Warrior), Narod (55 Warlock) and myself (60 Warrior) went in. We managed to, of course, get all the way to the Lyceum again. Usually this is where it goes to hell, as it's not impossible but not very easy to do this part of the instance without a mage or two. Far as I know and was told by a few friends in Muteki, NOBODY has done it without at least one mage. Well now ONE guild has. Us. How? We used our brains and ability. Raventears snuck around and ambushed the Dwarf torch carriers. Then the Yulagh and I Furystance whirlwinded the groups of mobs while the warlock Narod AOE-blasted what he could while our Priest Kederessa did her thing and Raventears sacked random mobs that strayed. The groups of mobs and roaming armies repop every 60 seconds, so we had to keep moving and move fast. We managed to light one torch with a 4man group 2 nights ago, so the first one was easy. We then had Raven go find the other Torch carrier while we cleared the way to the next torch to light. Once Raven had the second torch, it was pretty easy. Here are two shots to show our group and prove it wasn't a raid party to those that care enough to cry.

That's right. No mage. Then Yulagh had to split due to some real life issues, and we summoned in a mage for the final 2 encounters. With the help of Narod's ressurection stones (30 minute cooldown) we were able to get a few tries on The Emperor and the Princess. Uzmael our 60 mage kited the Princess and kept her out of our hair as Raventears, Narod, Kederessa and I smoked the Emperor.

A job well done to the awesome 5man team!
